Guide 01: Starting Up, Meeting Your Codemen

Here we are, at the first step of a hellish journey to the long journey that is Zenonzard.
For the sake of this guide, I will make an entirely new account because it's convenient and I want to play Green Elf if possible.

Before starting to play, you'll need to make sure that you have at least Android 7.1 and up to even install the game and preferably at least 4GB of RAM to ensure that the game would run smoothly. I have read report from the Japanese community that 3GB of RAM works at lower settings but expect slight stutter and whatnot during playing session. after making sure you got the latest Android version installed you can installing Zenonzard from the Google Play Store. Make sure you go to the Global Server page of the game like pictured above since the Japanese Server page won't let you download the game at all.

First of all We're going to meet everyone's beloved PR Mina, she will take you to the Beholder Group HQ before giving you FREE 10 packs of the PC01: AWAKEN pack to start with.
Each pack consist of 8 cards ranging from Common to Legend rarity and ensure at least 1 Rare or more card in each pack. You can't skip the gacha animation at this point so just wait and enjoy your first dip into the hellish journey.  when the packs slides out, rainbow colored packs means you got at least 1 Legend rarity card in said pack; Yellow/Gold packs ensures at least 1 Epic or Legendary rarity card while Blue colored pack is a normal pack with Rare or more card. For now, don't really pay any mind to the result of the packs and just continue with the proccess after using the Share button on the top left to finish a mission. I will cover on whether do you want to reroll the initial 10 packs on the next part of this guide.

After the hassle of a short interview with Mina, you'll find yourself in a seletion of 16 (Technically 17) characters/Codemen to pick from. there's a Precision indicator that correlates with the result of your earlier interviews. Don't pay any attention to that since it won't affect any gameplay or performance related attributes and just choose whichever Codemen you liked. Make sure you like your choice and won't regret it since it's practically permanent. You can change it later on but it will be really expensive and hard to do so.

Too Close to Comfort.

After a short download of 160MB, Mina will ask you whether you want to play the tutorial or not. I strongly recommend you to do so since Zenonzard is pretty hard and sport a complex mechanic. After the short Tutorial, Mina asked you to do a practice match against her. just follow the AI suggestion for now and you'll do just fine. The Practice Match shouldn't be long enough for the 1 GB data download to complete so wait until the download finished. I will do an in-depth guide on the various mechanic in the game sometimes in the near future to help explain whatever the game doesn't. Meanwhile, here's a short guide provided by Bandai for you to read and more.

Start of a journey

After giving your name to Mina, you'll find yourself in the home screen of the game and Mina will take you in another set of Tutorial to teach you some basics on stuffs like Rank Battle and Deck Building and AI Menu which I will cover more in detail later in a different article. For the battles during this short tutorial, just follow the AI suggestion it won't be your main deck after the tutorial ends anyway.

New Codemen On The Block

Now that the Tutorials ends, go pick your gifts and you noticed that an Auros Gear is one of the gift you received which means you can get a second Codemen for FREE. To receive your new Codemen, go to the Customize under the AI menu and choose the Buddy AI option to select another Codemen from the available options. Your new Codemen is at Synchro Level 1 and your inital Codemen will retain their Synchro Level and Card Affinity.
